Formed in April 1930 from several smaller iron and steel companies, including Republic Iron and Steel, Central Alloy Corporation, Bourne-Fuller Company and Donner Steel Company. Corrigan McKinney Steel Company, Truscon Steel Company, and Gulf States Steel were acquired 1935-1937, and the company headquarters was moved from Youngstown to Cleveland, Ohio.
